Card messages in the Shadow position.

– Fragile

(Insanity, desperation, delusional, dissociative, detached, neurotic, divergent, otherworldly)

  1. Just as the star can seem far off and alien, the duration of its light is fragile and undependable. Is your hold on your world so fragile as to make yourself appear diffuse or unclear to others?
  2. There are times when one is so fragile, that life’s disappointments may be devastating.  Look skyward to the eternal stars for hope. Let tears cleanse the heart and make the stars sparkle.
  3. Perhaps the delicate and sensitive is a state too difficult, too fragile for you to handle? If you can, you understand the meaning of Milan Kundera’s Unbearable Lightness of Being. It is not a burden, it is an openness that is unshielded, unconstrained, and so full of bright possibility, that to step into it feels like falling into a deep chasm of whimsey from which you might not reemerge. I am sad if this eludes you. It is a taste of life that is beyond description.
  4. Like the light of a distant star, its illumination is to gossamer and undependable for steady illumination. Thus, it is vital to develop a reserve . And, make sure to keep the battery recharged.
  5. It is easy to get caught in the allure of magical illusions. Mirages can inspire visions but also nightmares.
  6. Is your hold the world so fragile as to make you appear diffuse or detached to others? Get a hold of yourself and stabilize now.
  7. Whimsical thinking, like that of Blanche Dubois, leaves one’s fate to “the kindness of strangers”. It is a form of delusional insanity coming from a lost grip on reality. Strangers may be kind, but only you can pull yourself together.
Quotation Illustrating this concept…
  • “Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane.” – Philip K. Dick
  • “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his job depends on not understanding it.” – Upton Sinclair
  • “The best in this kind are but shadows, and the worst are no worse, if imagination amend them.” —Spoken by Theseus in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Relevance in the Michael Teaching

People under this characteristic are those whose presence is felt and have almost a mythic or mystic quality about them. “That certain something” phrases that peculiar combination that is seems indescribable and yet infinitely detectable.

As with all the Exotic Body Types there are no pure representatives. Instead, Essence chooses it is an accent or highlight which augments the Personality with qualities which cause it to be unforgettable. In the case of the Neptunian it lends itself to veneration and beauty associated with the Higher Emotional Center. It evokes the kind of attention that we might see in artists who are to be enshrined in greatness or religious figures who are attempting to assume the mantle of sainthood or demigod in the making.

When an Essence is seeking some form of expression of which they want to leave an indelible mark long after their death, this is the body type to help insure that. Images of Jesus Christ are often portrayed with a Neptunian quality about them. Indeed a perfect combination for his character.
